This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") forms part of and supplements the PageShield Terms of Service ("Terms"). It governs ordinary Subscription cancellation, refund eligibility and processing, statutory withdrawal handling where applicable, and related payment adjustments. Capitalised terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Terms.
The Service is intended and optimised primarily for business and professional use. If, despite that intended use, a Customer qualifies as a Consumer under mandatory applicable law, this Policy does not limit any withdrawal, conformity, price-reduction, termination, reimbursement or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
For paid transactions, Lemon Squeezy acts as Merchant of Record and seller of record for the payment transaction. CRAFTAC SRL remains the provider and licensor of the PageShield Service. Payment collection, invoicing, transaction-related taxes, refunds, chargebacks and related transaction administration are handled through Lemon Squeezy and its systems.
The following actions are legally and operationally distinct:
New Accounts may be eligible for a seven-day free trial of a paid Plan. No payment method is required to start the trial, the trial does not automatically convert into a paid Subscription, and no charge is made merely because the trial ends. Unless the Customer subscribes before expiry, the Account reverts to the free-tier limits then applicable.
Unless the applicable interface expressly states otherwise, a free trial is limited to one per Customer. PageShield may refuse, shorten or end a trial where it reasonably believes that multiple Accounts, false information or other means are being used to obtain repeated or unauthorised trial access.
Before a paid Subscription is started, the checkout, dashboard or Merchant of Record interface displays the applicable price, Billing Period, renewal arrangement, trial conditions and cancellation method. Where the Customer may qualify as a Consumer, PageShield also provides the statutory withdrawal information, identifies the dedicated online withdrawal function and makes the model withdrawal form in Annex 1 available before the order is placed and with the contract confirmation on a durable medium where required by law. Unless checkout expressly states another Billing Period, paid Subscriptions renew for successive monthly Billing Periods until cancelled.
By subscribing, the Customer authorises recurring charges for the selected Plan through Lemon Squeezy. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the billing information supplied to Lemon Squeezy is accurate and that it is authorised to use the selected payment method.
A Customer may cancel a paid Subscription at any time by using one of the cancellation methods made available for the relevant Subscription:
PageShield support may assist with a cancellation request, but cancellation of recurring billing is recorded and administered through Lemon Squeezy. A clear support request received before the renewal time will be treated as submitted when PageShield receives it, provided that the request reasonably identifies the Account and the Subscription to be cancelled. PageShield will transmit or action the request through Lemon Squeezy without undue delay and may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify the Account or scope of the request.
The dashboard, Merchant of Record interface or confirmation message should identify the date on which paid access is scheduled to end. Customers should retain the cancellation confirmation for their records and contact support promptly if the displayed status appears incorrect.
Ordinary cancellation stops future renewal. Unless otherwise stated in the applicable interface, agreed in writing or required by law, it does not terminate paid access immediately. The Customer retains access to the paid features of the Plan until the end of the current paid Billing Period.
After that period ends, the Account may be downgraded to the Starter free tier. Protection profiles are not deleted merely because of a downgrade: the oldest profiles remain active up to the Starter limit and excess profiles remain visible but inactive. The Starter tier provides read-only access to up to seven (7) days of dashboard history and does not include CSV export. An active Starter profile applies the Plan-defined redirect automatically on page load to all visitors, while monitor-only mode, percentage controls, click triggers, schedules, pixel fallback, analytics and webhook alerts are disabled and ignored. PageShield provides a prominent summary before a Customer-initiated downgrade and reasonable advance electronic notice before a scheduled downgrade following cancellation or expiry, unless equivalent information has already been supplied or immediate action is required. The detailed effects are described in the Terms.
Before the current paid Billing Period ends, the Customer may use the Resume subscription control, where available, to restore automatic renewal without completing a new checkout, subject to the Subscription remaining eligible for resumption and the applicable Lemon Squeezy status.
Ordinary Customer-initiated cancellation does not entitle the Customer to a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the current Billing Period because access to the paid features normally remains available until that period ends. The Customer is responsible for cancelling before the next renewal if it does not want the Subscription to renew.
The following circumstances do not, by themselves, create an automatic refund entitlement:
This Section does not limit a mandatory Consumer remedy, an approved discretionary refund, or an express contractual pro-rata refund under Section 7.
Where mandatory applicable law grants a Customer a right to withdraw, obtain conformity, receive a proportionate price reduction, terminate the contract, recover an overpayment or receive another reimbursement, that right applies notwithstanding any contrary wording in this Policy. Where Romanian law applies, a reimbursement following statutory withdrawal, or following a price reduction or termination remedy for a digital service, will be made without undue delay and no later than fourteen (14) days after PageShield or the relevant Merchant of Record is informed of the valid decision or remedy, using the same payment method unless the Consumer expressly agrees otherwise and without imposing a refund fee. The amount and any permitted proportionate charge for Service already supplied will be determined under applicable law and administered through the Merchant of Record process.
The Customer is entitled to a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of a paid Billing Period where the Terms expressly provide that entitlement, including where:
Without limiting mandatory or express contractual rights, PageShield may approve a full or partial refund or credit on a case-by-case basis in limited circumstances, including:
A discretionary refund is not guaranteed merely because a request is submitted. PageShield may investigate the request, ask for relevant information and consider the duration, severity, cause, reporting time, available workaround and any remediation already provided. A service credit will not replace a legally required refund without the Customer's agreement or another lawful basis.
This Section applies only where the Customer qualifies as a Consumer under mandatory applicable law. It does not apply to a Business Customer acting for purposes relating to its trade, business, craft or profession.
A Consumer entering into a distance contract may have a statutory withdrawal period. Under Romanian and other applicable European Economic Area consumer law, that period is generally fourteen days from conclusion of the relevant service contract, subject to the applicable legal conditions, information requirements and exceptions.
Where the Consumer expressly requests that the Service begin during the withdrawal period and later withdraws, the Consumer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the Service actually supplied before withdrawal, but only where the statutory information and express-request conditions have been satisfied. Beginning performance does not by itself extinguish the withdrawal right. The right may cease only after the Service has been fully performed, where the Consumer gave the required prior express request or consent and acknowledgement and the other statutory conditions are met.
The request to begin performance during the withdrawal period is obtained through a separate, unticked affirmative action, distinct from acceptance of the Terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy. PageShield records the wording accepted, Account and contract reference, and date and time of confirmation. The wording does not state or imply that the Consumer loses the withdrawal right merely when performance begins.
For a Consumer contract concluded through an online interface, PageShield provides a dedicated online withdrawal function at https://pageshield.io/withdraw.html and, where the Consumer is signed in, through Settings > Contract withdrawal > "Withdraw from contract" in the dashboard. The function is labelled "Withdraw from the contract here" or with another clear and unambiguous equivalent, remains prominently displayed and readily accessible throughout the statutory withdrawal period, and is available independently of the ordinary Subscription-cancellation control.
The withdrawal function allows the Consumer to provide or confirm the Consumer's name, the details necessary to identify the relevant contract or Subscription, and the electronic address to which the withdrawal confirmation must be sent. Before submission, the Consumer is required to activate a separate confirmation control labelled "Confirm withdrawal" or with another clear and unambiguous equivalent.
After the Consumer submits the withdrawal statement, PageShield sends, without undue delay, an acknowledgement on a durable medium stating the content of the withdrawal statement and the date and time of submission. A withdrawal submitted through that function is effective in relation to the PageShield service contract, and PageShield coordinates any corresponding reimbursement with Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. The Consumer is not required to contact Lemon Squeezy before exercising the withdrawal right through PageShield.
A Consumer may also use the model withdrawal form in Annex 1 or make any other unequivocal statement permitted by applicable law. Use of the model form is optional. A withdrawal statement received through a PageShield channel identified for that purpose will be recorded and transmitted or actioned through Lemon Squeezy without undue delay.
Consumers may also have mandatory remedies where a digital service is not in conformity with the contract, including bringing the Service into conformity, a proportionate price reduction or termination and reimbursement in the circumstances prescribed by law. Nothing in this Policy replaces or narrows those remedies.
After a valid Consumer termination for non-conformity or a qualifying Service modification, PageShield will, upon request and subject to statutory exceptions, make available without charge or impediment any non-personal content supplied or created by the Consumer when using the Service. Where Romanian law applies, PageShield will provide it within a reasonable period not exceeding fifteen (15) calendar days from the request, in a commonly used and machine-readable format. Personal data remains governed by the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law, and EU Data Act switching remains a separate process.
For a non-statutory refund or credit request, contact support@pageshield.io and provide, where available:
A Consumer exercising a statutory withdrawal right is not required to give a reason. The Consumer may use the dedicated withdrawal function, the model form in Annex 1 or another unequivocal method permitted by law and identified in the applicable checkout or pre-contractual notice. The request will identify the person and contract sufficiently for processing. PageShield or Lemon Squeezy may request proportionate verification information to prevent fraud or an unauthorised refund, without making exercise of the statutory right unnecessarily difficult. If Lemon Squeezy offers a separate channel that clearly records a statutory withdrawal, use of that channel is also effective to the extent stated in the relevant buyer interface or terms.
Non-statutory requests should be submitted promptly after the relevant charge, event or discovery of the issue. Any mandatory legal period or deadline continues to apply regardless of this recommendation.
Every approved refund, credit, tax adjustment or transaction reversal relating to a Lemon Squeezy transaction is administered and paid through Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. CRAFTAC SRL does not collect or store full payment-card details and will not attempt to bypass the Merchant of Record systems when issuing a transaction refund.
Lemon Squeezy may process a full or partial refund, depending on the approved amount and transaction. The time required for an issued refund to appear on the Customer's payment statement may depend on Lemon Squeezy, the payment method, the card network, the bank and any applicable tax adjustment. Those processing times do not extend or reduce any mandatory statutory deadline.
Where a request is submitted to PageShield support, PageShield will record and transmit or action an approved refund through Lemon Squeezy without undue delay. The Customer may receive confirmation or status information from PageShield, Lemon Squeezy, the payment provider or more than one of them.
If a Customer believes that a charge is incorrect or unauthorised, it is encouraged to contact PageShield support promptly so that the matter can be investigated and, where appropriate, handled through Lemon Squeezy. Contacting PageShield first is not a condition to exercising any mandatory Consumer, payment or dispute right.
Chargebacks, payment disputes and transaction-related dispute fees are handled through Lemon Squeezy under its applicable terms. PageShield will not separately charge the Customer for chargeback or dispute costs outside Lemon Squeezy.
If Lemon Squeezy reports that a payment has failed, been reversed, appears fraudulent or unauthorised, or is subject to a chargeback or payment dispute, PageShield may suspend, downgrade or restrict the affected paid features while the matter is handled, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The good-faith exercise of a mandatory Consumer right or a legitimate payment dispute will not be treated as abuse merely because the right or dispute was exercised.
Cancelling a Subscription does not delete the Account, Customer Data or personal data. Self-service Account deletion is available in Settings and requires explicit confirmation by typing the exact Account email address. Once confirmed, deletion from the active database is immediate. Data may remain in automatically rotated backups for up to fourteen (14) days. A separate deletion ledger containing only a keyed cryptographic hash (HMAC or equivalent) of the Account email and the deletion date is retained for thirty (30) days and is used solely to reapply the deletion if an older backup is restored. Data return, deletion and retention are governed by the Terms, Privacy Policy, DPA and applicable law.
Because CSV export is unavailable after the Account returns to Starter, the Customer should export available records, reports and configuration information that it considers important before paid access expires. This product limitation does not restrict a statutory data-protection request, a DPA return right, a mandatory Consumer retrieval right or, where applicable, an EU Data Act switching/export right.
If PageShield terminates the Service for convenience, any contractual export period and pro-rata refund will be handled as stated in the Terms. Any mandatory Consumer retrieval right, DPA return right or applicable EU Data Act switching and retrieval right remains unaffected.
Where the PageShield EU Data Act Addendum applies, it governs switching, portability, transition, retrieval, termination and deletion within its stated scope. An ordinary cancellation or refund request does not automatically initiate an EU Data Act switching process, and a switching request must follow the procedure stated in that Addendum.
Standard Subscription fees may continue only for periods during which the Service continues to be supplied, including an agreed extension requested by the Customer. PageShield does not impose switching charges for standard assistance, interfaces and export functionality required by applicable law. Additional bespoke assistance may be charged only where the Customer requests it and accepts the scope and price in advance. Every related payment, credit or refund is processed through Lemon Squeezy.
PageShield may update this Policy where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, Consumer requirements, Merchant of Record arrangements, payment procedures or operational practices. Material changes will be notified and applied in accordance with the notice, prospective-effect and paid-period protections in the Terms. A later version will not retroactively remove a refund or withdrawal right that had already arisen.
Questions, cancellation requests where support is an available channel, and non-statutory refund requests may be sent to support@pageshield.io. Consumer withdrawal requests should use the dedicated withdrawal function or another method identified in the relevant checkout or pre-contractual notice; where PageShield support is expressly identified as a withdrawal channel, the request may also be sent to that address.
